Trainee Research Networks

Trainee research networks are a collaborative effort to conduct high-quality multicentre audits or research that is led, designed and delivered by trainees (Tavabie et al, 2023). Our specialty has been able to produce some truly impactful research, and we look forward to future work and collaborations.

The currently active trainee networks within gastroenterology and hepatology are listed below:

Current projects

GLINT and YaHGuT collaboration- RECRUITING for the BOS Project.

Recruitment is open for our latest project on benign oesophageal strictures (BOS).

SABRE-IBD as listed above.

The Yorkshire and Humber gastroenterology audit and research network (YaHGuT) are embarking on their next study for the training year 2024-2025. We are looking to audit and review adherence to the BSG guidelines for colorectal cancer surveillance in patients with IBD. The current working title is 'A Multicentre Audit on Colorectal Cancer (CRC) Surveillance in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Patients in the UK'. We are inviting all gastro trainee networks to collaborate with us on this project. A draft study protocol has been developed and we would welcome input from all participating networks to develop this further.
