Endorsed Event: 9th Newcastle Clinical Nutrition Course
We are delighted to endorse the 9th Newcastle Clinical Nutrition Course starting from 11th – 13th March at the Copthorne Hotel.
The course, which has been running for 9 years, aims to provide a broad grounding in clinical nutrition and allow medical and surgical trainees to develop increased awareness of the science behind nutrition support, the appropriate assessment and management of patients with malnutrition including enteral and parenteral support. Attendees will develop greater understanding of the particular nutritional needs of those with different conditions such as pancreatic disease, liver disease, anorexia, IBS and functional gut disorders. Speakers include regional & national experts in their field.
The course will be made up of a small group of delegates (maximum 30) who will benefit from case discussions. Whilst primarily targeted at trainees, we expect that the programme will carry broader appeal to a wider range of healthcare professionals. We would encourage those interested to attend.
The course meets the curriculum requirements for gastroenterology trainees. The course has previously been officially endorsed by BAPEN, through their education and training committee and the BSG through the Education Committee.
The course covers all aspects of the JRCPTB Gastroenterology curriculum for higher specialty trainees and the General Surgical Curriculum related to nutrition.
