What will be covered?
These courses are designed for IMTs and ST4s new to the specialty, and will give junior trainees a comprehensive introduction to endoscopy. They are suitable for medical and surgical trainees who are about to or interested in undertaking endoscopic training. The practical 'hands-on' experience will be facilitated using virtual reality simulators.
Each course will cover:
• Introduction to endoscopy
• How to scope
• Observed OGDs
• Simulations
• GI Bleeds – Endoscopic Therapy
• Careers in Endoscopy
Course aims
• Inspire junior trainees to pursue a career in gastroenterology and endoscopy.
• Provide information on endoscopy and how this integrates with a career in gastroenterology.
• Offer hands on introductory training in therapeutic UGI endoscopy.
BSG members will be charged a refundable deposit to attend with non-members being charged £50.00.
Each course will have a capacity of 15 delegates to allow for a more 1-2-1 experience.
Courses will include time for coffee and networking.
