In Memoriam: Dr Chris Dobson
It is with deep sadness that we announce news of the passing of our member and colleague, Dr Chris Dobson. Dr Dobson had been unwell for a short period of time and passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday 19th June. He has been a member of the BSG for several years. As a dedicated physician and gastroenterologist in Cornwall, he touched the lives of tens of thousands of patients throughout his 23 years of service.
He leaves behind his wife and 2 children.
Alcohol Health Alliance urges action on alcohol-related deaths
Alcohol-related harm continues to place significant pressure on the healthcare system, with nearly 1 million hospital admissions each year linked to alcohol, costing the NHS £4.91 billion annually. The AHA has called for policies such as minimum unit pricing and increased funding for alcohol treatment services to reduce harm and improve public health.
