This webinar was recorded on the 15th March 2023 and is part of our BSG/BASL AUD webinar series, focused on alcohol use disorder and mixed aetiology fatty liver disease.

Please see below the learning objectives and programme from the webinar, and the recording.

Key learning objectives

  • Understand the similarities and differences between the pathogenesis and clinical consequences of alcohol-related liver disease (ARLD), non-alcohol-related fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and dual-aetiology fatty liver disease
  • Explore whether this distinction matters, in clinical practice?
  • Consider what the best non-invasive tests are to risk stratify fibrosis in ARLD and NAFLD?
  • Understand how risky alcohol consumption can best be detected and whether it is accurately reported, in this context considering the stigma around AUD
  • Provide some practical advice for clinicians in how to manage these
