About our speakers

Associate Prof Anahita Sadeghi, Associate Professor of Medicine, Digestive Disease Research Institute, Tehran University of Medical Sciences

I am an associate professor of medicine at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Iran. I work as a gastroenterologist at the Digestive Diseases Research Institute, Shariati hospital.  

 My research interests include Neurogastroenterology & GI Motility, IBD, Medical education, and Climate change. During the COVID-19 pandemic, my priority was visiting COVID-19 patients and I focused on research and education regarding COVID-19. 

Dr Rooshi Nathwani, Hepatology Consultant, Royal Free Hospital, London

I am currently a hepatology consultant at the Royal Free Hospital London with an interest in decompensated cirrhosis and portal hypertension. I completed my gastroenterology training in North West Thames Deanery, London and was awarded my PhD in 2021.




Associate Prof Farhad Peerally, Associate Professor, University of Leicester & Consultant Gastroenterologist, Kettering General Hospital 

Farhad is an Associate Professor in Health Sciences with the SAPPHIRE group in the Department of Health Sciences at the University of Leicester and a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Kettering General Hospital in the University Hospitals of Northamptonshire NHS Group. 

He holds research interests in Gastroenterology and the Health Sciences, including patient safety, Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Barrett’s Oesophagus, in particular using qualitative methodologies. He is a module lead on the Masters in Quality and Safety programme at the University of Leicester. He wa one of the recipients of the Royal College of Physician Turner-Warwick prize lectureship and the British Society of Gastroenterology Allistair McIntyre prize for improving Gastroenterology training.
