Professor Guru Aithal, Professor of Hepatology at the Nottingham Digestive Diseases Centre and Lead at the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre, is internationally known for his expertise in Drug Induced Liver Disease. He has carried out extensive research into the genetic and environmental factors associated with DILI, non invasive markers for detection and monitoring of drug induced hepatotoxicity and in the genetics of complex liver diseases.

In this BSG Masterclass presentation, Guru discusses the diagnosis and assessment of causality of DILI and when to investigate patients with liver biopsy or genetic markers and how to treat this condition. DILI is the second most common presentation of liver disease in secondary care after biliary obstruction and it is essential that all Gastroenterologists understand how to investigate and manage this condition. We hope that you learn everything that you need to know about DILI from Guru’s excellent presentation at BSG LIVE 2022.
