Annual Meeting Travel Bursary - Trainees and Nurses

The BSG Education Committee invites BSG nurse or trainee members in any area of gastroenterology planning on coming to BSG LIVE’25 but will struggle financially to attend to apply for 1 of 20 travel bursaries.

Each bursary of up to £500 is funded by the BSG and is intended to reimburse the costs of registration, travel and/or accommodation. Other costs (meals, poster preparation, visas etc.) will not be supported. Please note that priority will be given to those attending the full conference.

Successful applicants

Bursaries will be paid after the relevant meeting on submission of your expense claim and a brief report outlining what you felt was most valuable about attending the conference, what you enjoyed the most, and what you learned that you could bring back to your daily work.

Criteria

  • Trainees: You must be a BSG member and apply by filling out the form at the bottom of this page. It is envisaged that trainees would have an abstract or poster or oral presentation or be co-chairing a session at the annual meeting to be eligible for a bursary. Trainees can also produce a Web Education article with guidance from their consultant in order to qualify for a bursary. We will accept a previously submitted article and will ask for the title in the application form. An example of a Trainee Education article is provided here. Please contact [email protected] to express an interest in submitting an article.
  • Nurses: You must be a BSG member and apply by filling out the form at the bottom of this page. It is envisaged that nurses would have an abstract or poster or oral presentation or co-chairing a session at the annual meeting. Alternatively, we would accept your application if you contribute to nurse education by producing a Web Education article. This would need to be submitted pre conference and the title will be requested in the application form. We will also accept a previously submitted article. An example of a nurse education article is provided here. Please contact [email protected] to express an interest in submitting an article.
